Hi, I’m Shelby.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a therapist, and a mom. I created Where You Are Therapy for people who are used to being the strong one—the person managing the schedules, anticipating everyone’s needs, and keeping life moving while quietly feeling overwhelmed themselves.
I understand how easy it is to lose touch with yourself beneath the mental load, responsibilities, and pressure to hold everything together. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to perform, have the right words, or arrive with everything figured out. You get to show up exactly as you are.
My goal is to create a space that feels calm, comfortable, and real. You’ll be supported and taken seriously, but therapy with me doesn’t have to feel overly clinical or intimidating. There is room for honesty, emotion, reflection, humor, and the messy reality of being human.
What It’s Like To Work With Me
My style is warm, collaborative, and interactive. I’m not a therapist who will sit silently and leave you wondering what I’m thinking. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, help you connect patterns, gently challenge you when it may be helpful, and work with you to develop practical tools that fit your actual life.
Some sessions may focus on processing what has been weighing on you. Others may involve identifying patterns, practicing boundaries, building emotional regulation skills, or deciding on one manageable step forward. We’ll follow your needs while staying connected to the changes you want to make.
My hope is that therapy helps you feel more understood, more grounded, and more confident—not only during our sessions, but in your relationships and everyday life.
My Professional Background
I am a Florida Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through anxiety, depression, parenting stress, trauma, burnout, and major life transitions.
My work integrates evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, attachment-focused strategies, and practical emotional regulation skills. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all formula, I tailor our work to your personality, needs, goals, and current season of life.
Outside of therapy, I’m usually spending time with my family, getting outside, drinking coffee, or trying to create more of the same balance and presence I encourage my clients to build. I don’t believe growth requires becoming an entirely different person. Often, it begins with reconnecting with yourself beneath the stress.
